Converting a PlayStation 2 into a custom Arcade Stick

I've always been a big fan of 1on1 fighters. Street Fighter 2 Championship Edition on the Sega Megadrive, Capcom Vs SNK, Tekken 4, Street Fighter Zero 3... So many of them have been mainstays of my gaming past. So, naturally I have my own arcade stick. It may only be a Mayflash fighting stick, but it is Sanwa compatible. It is however, broken. I need to replace the joystick, but seeing as I need to take it apart to do that...seems like a good opportunity to modify the whole thing. The PlayStation 2 was the home for a lot of my favorite 1on1s so it seems appropriate it should be the home of my custom arcade stick
