As with all the mods I do the goal is to bring the Playsatation 1 bang up to date and get the original hardware to output to modern tvs in the best possible way, have the whole back catalogue on the system and the best player experience with the least amount of fuss.

I have tried the first part of the mod list below once but made an absolute dogs dinner trying to solder the ribbon cable to the GPU, basically ruining both the GPU and the cable. I've ordered in some replacement cables and I have another Playstation to give it a bash on another day.

Retro Gem HDMI Mod:

A HDMI Mod will be fitted to the console to take the original rendered image created by the GPU and then upscaling the raw frame to 1440p, bypassing Sony's original DAC fitted to the console. This should give the best posible image from the console.

XStation ODE:

The XStation Optical Disc Emulator enables you to replace the disc drive with a microSD card, meaning you can have a complete collection of games, all stored on the console without the need to change discs.
