Creating the Ultimate PlayStation 2

The PlayStation 2 is the best selling console of all time so it seems fit to bring as PS2 Phat up to date with a couple of mods. As always I'm want to upgrade it to native HDMI output for modern tvs, have the whole back catalogue for the system (well as close as possible), and for it to be the best player experience with the least amount of fuss.

List of MODS

Retro Gem HDMI Mod:

The Retro Gem HDMI mod is a fantastic no cut mod that grabs the signal direct from the GPU, upscales it to 1440p and then outputs it through HDMI. It's really impressive just how good PS2 games can look when internally upscaled and digitally output.

PS2 Sata HD Adapter:

The PS2 Sata Adapter replaces the standard PS2 network adapter and hard drive cady with a modern Sata connection allowing you to use modern Sata drives. When used with FreeMcBoot it allows you to load games direct from the hard drive without needing the disc to launch the game.

2Tb SSD:

Unfortunately 2 terabytes is not quite enough for the full library as the full NTSC library is around 2.6Tb. But, 3TB drives are pretty much non existent and I'm not paying double the price for a 4 Tb drive. I'm sure I'll survive without 7 FIFA games 8 Madden games and 19 NBA games.

Noctua Fan Mod:

The Noctua Fan Mod is great mod that enables you to replace the stock cooling fan a better quality, quieter, and more efficient Noctua fan to the back. Pretty self explanatory really, more cooling, more quite...
